Between today March 30 through April 1, 2021, ERCOT will be implementing system changes surrounding energy storage, offer curves, dispatch, and costs; the implementation will be for Protocol language associated with Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) 971, NPRR986, NPRR1043, and VCMRR027 for all market participants.

NPRR971 will be adding changes that relate to energy resources, offers, and costs, while NPRR986 and NPRR1043 include more information such as energy charges and load calculations. VCMRR027 deletes sections to “align the Verifiable Cost Manual with the Nodal Protocol changes addressed in NPRR986.”

Additionally, there will be Settlement Billing Determinants which will be added, removed, and changed after the implementation; those billing determinants will help with energy cost caps and charging loads.

To incorporate these revisions, market participants are expected to implement changes to their shadow systems.
